Break In Update....

Thank you so much for all the support and hugs you sent my way since last night.....it really meant a lot to me. I'm feeling more calm about things today. I was just so upset last night, I think because we can't stay there and keep an eye on things....we both felt very out of control and it was a very unsettling feeling. It helped to vent about it, and thanks for listening and telling me I didn't need to apologize. Whenever I've had a bad day and complained about wanting to get back in my house....I always get an e-mail from, a "well meaning" blogger, mostly someone I don't know, telling me that I need to stop complaining, and they remind me about every person on Earth that lost more than we did, or who doesn't have an apartment to live in, etc. So at times I feel like I can't say what's going on in my life, like I have to be "up" 100% of the time. Thanks for reminding me that everyone has these kind of days, and it doesn't mean I'm self centered or non caring of others plight when I do, nor have I forgotten to be grateful for my blessings. Your gentle hugs made me feel better about letting my feelings out on stressful days.

Okay, here's an update about the break in. A deputy officer came out today and took finger prints & photographs....plus, Marv went along with him as he investigated things and got a better look at things in the day light. What we found was pretty disgusting. Two of our bathrooms had been plumbed last week, no toilets yet, but the holes cut and some of the pipes laid, and whomever was in our house on Saturday night, took a poo in both of the holes....and then jammed it up with paper. I kid you not. So, of course, all of that work has to be pulled out of there and will be redone this week sometime. The Sheriff thinks that "gift" was definitely personal, we just don't know if it was directed at us, or maybe at the guy doing the plumbing. The electric saw that was taken from the house was his, and it was worth around $600. They also took his pole light, and a few other tools he had in the house. In the garage, we know Marv's tool belt and a lot of his tools are gone, plus some personal items of ours from the boxes. They also saw that there were drag marks across the garage floor that led directly to the side door....so he thinks they got out of there with a big item too, we just can't decide what it is right now, we had a lot of things out there. He also agreed that they were definitely coming back for the items they had lined up by the door.....and had Marv not seen the gate open, they would have gotten everything. The lock to that gate was busted right off.....that's how they got that open and into the back yard. It's not a good feeling to think that one of the workers coming into your home may have come back and did that.....or even someone that may have been mad at us for something that happened in our grocery store, but it's probably the case. Who knows.

It stormed here today, so no temporary power lines were installed for security lights, but hopefully that will be done tomorrow. While we are in FL, we have friend who is a deputy for another county who is going to come by every night after the workers have left and inspect the house, inside and out. We are making that known to the builder, too, we want them very aware that our home will not be unattended for the 10 days we are gone.....hopefully that will detour his outsourced workers from removing anything. I will just be glad when it is all done and we are back in to take care of things ourselves!

I was gone most of the day today getting my hair done and running errands, and busy tonight getting some things done for the trip, so of course....I'm behind again in blog reading! If I miss one day....YIKES! I have to take my parents shopping for Emmy's birthday present during the day, but I'll catch up here tomorrow night. Thanks again.....I'm feeling much more relaxed tonight and counting the days off until I see Mandy, just look at that countdown!!!!

Pooh Hugs,
Linda

I hope they find who it was that did this to you. It's an unsettling feeling, not knowing and wondering if/when they will be back.

Keeping you in my prayers.

Another hug ((((Linda)))) Just cause I need to give one and I think you could use a few more.

I'm glad you are feeling better about everything. I do hope they are able to stop anything else from happening and catch the ones responsible. It is good you have your trip to look forward to

I hope they catch whoever did this. Glad that someone will be watching your house while you're away.

I'm glad, too, that you're feeling better. Pretty soon, you'll be hugging Mandy to pieces!! You take care of yourself!!

Hugs,

Diana

I have a hunch this was directed more towards your contractor than you and Marv. I do hope that the fingerprints help and they find the culprit(s). HUGS!

You sound better. That makes me happy. Displaced is displaced - and you are entitled to feel upset about it just as anyone else who is displaced does. There's no place like home!!! And years and years ago my purse was stolen out of my car when i was dropping matthew off at day care. I felt so violated and it creeped me out that some criminal was in MY car. So i can only imagine how it feels to have your HOME broken into! and the message left behind - yuk! My belief is that it is all related to the builder not you. Hang in there sweets! you are days away from Mandyville! Mandy: you give your mom hugs for all of us!

That is just plain nasty, Linda, what happened to you. I hope the culprits are caught, and made to eat what they left in your pipes.

i'm glad you are feeling a little better about things and especially glad your friend will be over nightly while you are away. that has to be reassuring to you. staying busy helps and you are going to be that for the next few days! just think ahead to seeing mandy. :)

wow, that is all scary and maddening to think a worker or someone from Marv's job may have stolen your stuff. You two are being very proactive though and will make it known not to try it again.
Hey, do not ever let some damn well meaning judgemental ass blog person make you feel bad. That is one of the dangers of being public when you get some goon making you feel bad for just being HUMAN.
I love you!

What a mess to deal with. Big hug! You need one more I'm sure!

Crooks can have reasons, or no reasons..to a non-crook person its hard to think that way, because we're just not wired that way. In any case, you've taken matters into your hands, and let everyone know about it! I am glad you are feeling better, and Lord knows, you need this trip!!

I also have a feeling that this theft was directed towards one of your contractors. But it still is disgusting that it happened. What a great friend you have to check on your house everynight while you are gone. Hopefully, you & Marv can enjoy yourself and not have too many worries while you are gone.
More Hugs,
June

I hope they find out who the theif is & make them pay. (((LINDA)))

Sounds like maybe it was a worker that was let go. Sounds personal but not against you and that he was getting his tools up to start his own little business. The well meaning people, well this is you and this is happening to you. Not some person you have never met or known. Its like being grateful for you flu because at least you don't have Janes cancer. Sorry but you need to feel just as bad because it is happening to you. So go ahead and let it out or just email me personally. I do understand and feel your pain.

I dont think you need to reminded of all that you have every single time you feel bad, now why would anyone do that? People feel bad sometimes, its a fact of life!

I dont know what this person who emails you, what their motivation is for telling you to stop complaining. Maybe they are jelous and just cant stand it that people who have more arent constantly constantly happy (which is unrealistic).

I cant imagine anyone thinking that you are a complainer! I feel like you have had so so much on your plate and you are nearly always so upbeat that having a down day would simply make you....HUMAN.

You know what Linda...whoever says that someone else is worse off than you is NOT in your shoes. You know that there are people in worse shape but you are living in your circumstance. I don't know anyone who would not be upset with what is happening, if it were them. Besides which, this is YOUR blog and you can vent anytime you want. The majority of us understand and love you.
Hugs, Joyce

Linda, I can see why you've been under stress with all that has happened at your home, but I'm grateful that you or Marv weren't at the house when all this was going on and that you are safe. Sounds like you have your bases covered having your friend coming to check each day that you are gone. Just allowed yourself to enjoy your visit with your daughter. You can't change what's hapened so don't let it stress you out, just enjoy your visit dear.Hugs, Arlene(AJ)

I think they should keep a lil sample of the fecal matter to do dna on, ya know, just to be all CSI and all. lol Ok, that is me trying to get a giggle outta ya....lame, I know.
Don't ever appologize or feel bad when you are done wrong and get pissed.
We are human and you all are going through so damn much, so you rant about it all, annnnnd? As far as I am concerned, you can rant and share your feelings for as long as it takes.
Because we all know the person you and Marv are and that it is not your nature to go around looking for things to bitch about.
I love ya.....Lindapooh*

Linda....there will always be someone worse off than you, that is not the point. You know that, we all know that. Something traumatic happened to you and you have the right to vent (complain) about it here on YOUR very own blog. Please do not let anyone stop you from speaking your feelings. I have been robbed and I have had a house fire. They are both horrible things and I know that loss and violations are huge stressors.
Take photos of everything you can at the house before you leave. I even took photos of the serial #s. Macros mode is great for doing such.
The B&E may not be directed towards anyone specific. It is probably just some drug using rat-thief sneaking around in the night.
Were the plumber's tools insured?

Linda,

Life has been crazy here and I've been prttty much absent from journals for a while, and Im trying to get caught up. I cannot tell you how sad I felt for you reading about what you all have gone through with the break in. I cannot imagine the feeling of violation that must have been. I'm so sorry that you all had to experience it. I hope they find who did this and that your things are recovered. Bless your heart. I'm so new to your journal that I didn't kmnow that you'd had a house fire. Again, I'm so sorry. And if anyone is entitled to a venting session, honey, it's you! So just vent away. You can always vent to me.

I'm sooooo happy that you're going to be leaving on a "happy trip" to see Mandy! You so need this right now and you are under orders to thoroughly enjoy every second of it! Understand? lol

Just look at it this way; into every life some rain must fall. You have had so much that you should have clear skies for a very long time...so enjoy them.

Know that you are loved and thought about.
