Back To My Journal!

Hi, finally back to my journal, and last night I think I caught up with every one .....if I missed yours, let me know! Thanks for worrying about me, all was okay. I was just having some issues with a new medicine I'm taking, and it was leaving me nauseated and dizzy when I was up or trying to do something like look at a computer screen. The complicated part was just the interaction with other meds I'm taking and why I have to take them at certain times, etc. The Doctor switched things around, and although I'm still having a little problem......it's so much better! I was actually able to sit at the PC last night for 5 hours (yes, it took that long to catch up, because I read every entry I missed!) without issue except being TIRED when finished!!

We are getting closer to leaving....one week from today!! We leave at 7:00 a.m., so this time next Sunday, I should be in the air! WHOOHOOO!! We've been busy doing all the things one has to do, stop mail & newspaper, etc. I have to say that packing is probably the easiest it has ever been since I don't have very many items to choose from! Usually I worry that I "may" need this or that and throw it in. Well, we don't have a lot of this or that since the fire, so there is nothing to worry about missing!! This should serve as a huge lesson to me, I do not need half of the things I usually lug around on a trip, simple is better and much faster :)

I'm getting excited to see Mandy, as I haven't seen her since June, when she was home for my parent's 60th anniversary open house. That was one week before our fire....little did we know what was to come the next week in our lives. My favorite song by Don Henley is "New York Minute" and nothing rings more true...."In a New York minute, everything can change". Things with the house are moving very slow, I haven't talked about it because it depresses me and I'm trying to stay in an up mood for my trip. They were not even working in our place for a solid month because of flood cases they went to work on in Michigan. I have to tell you that while I'm sorry that those people have displacement issues too, I'm very angry with the refurb company. If you are that short of workers, then you bring others in or hire new ones.....builders everywhere are out of work. They are extremely behind in our house and although a lot of things have been picked out, virtually no work has been done and it looks as if we will not get back in January now. Yep, like I said, I'm not talking much about it because I'm really depressed about where things stand. So, our trip with be a good diversion from what is going on here, and I'm soooooo ready to leave!!!! The bad part is leaving Abby behind, and although we have a great place to leave her....that little baby has wrapped her paws around our heart and I'm going to miss her terribly.

That's about it, just wanted to let you know why I was not here most of last week....spinning journals don't make you feel very good. LOL! Since I'm caught up now in my reading, I'm going to head to lay back down for a while. Until next time....hide your hunny, the Pooh bear is back on the loose :)

((((Linda)))) I'm so sorry the meds were giving you a spinning sensation; truly not a good sign when something given to help you actually ends up making you feel worse; glad the doctors are fine turning things

that is so sad about the house; I've been praying that work would go smoothly, I'm sorry that it isn't. I agree with you; the company could find temporary workers at least to work on things while another crew goes elsewhere; I think it all stems to that stupid word "greed","I want to keep it all for myself and not spread it" geesh; our pastor did a great sermon on the economy last night and he explained it so much more better than the economists who went to school oodles of years to learn about it and it all comes down to this basic thought "the condition of your heart - getting by with what you have and being content with it" (I may write about it, I don't know, its still swirling around in my mind, but it makes perfect sense)

sorry, out on a tangent this morning; Koda is tapping his paw looking at his Rolex watch and saying "isn't it walk time yet?"

(okay 2 out of 3 things in that above sentence are true; he doesn't own a Rolex)

(okay 1 out of 3 things are true; he doesn't talk)

(okay honestly I've never seen him tap his paw :)

A few short days until you see Mandy!! Yea!!!

(still praying for you all :)

betty

Those medications can really mess you up. Glad your feeling better. Sorry about the house and I agree. I just heard on the news about all the construction workers who are out of work due to no new home construction being done. Put them to work. I am sure they would be happy for the jobs. I bet your getting excited. I know you will have fun

I'm glad that your meds are worked out and you're feeling better. I hope you back to 100% next week when you leave!! And when you come home, I'll be leaving for my vacation. Can't wait!!

I can only imagine how frustrating it is to deal with builders and with them being behind. It's out of your control, so don't dwell on it. Enjoy your vacation!!!

Hugs,

Diana

I am so sorry that you have had issues with your meds and i pray you feel 100% when you leave in a week. I received your card yesterday and i have to tell you--it was PERFECT. It will be with me forever because i will go back and read it everyday. Like i do the Good Witch book mark!
I am so upset that you will be out of your home longer than needed and you are right..this company should stand up to the word it gave you. I love you!!

I hope the spinning is much better. I've been spinning due to panic attacks for the last couple of days. NOT pleasant. I'm tired of them. I go in spurts it seems. 6 months in between.

Hi Linda, I just happened upon your blog and you seem like such a sweet person. I'm very sorry to hear about your house fire... no doubt you lost many cherished possessions. Also sorry it is taking so long to get back there. For what it's worth, though, not to make you feel bad but hopefully make you feel better... at least no one was hurt, and you know you will be going home at some point. So many have lost their homes permanently, and unfortunately my husband and I are among them... times are hard and I fear they are going to get worse for so many in our country, people who never thought they would find themselves in such a situation.

Disney World will be a lovely break for you, as well. You must be so proud of your daughter. She must get her love of Disney from you. : )

Glad you're back and feeling better! Have a fantastic trip! I'm so excited for you.

Hope those workers get going on your house! If they can do it in a week on TV one would think they could do it in 3 months! ;)

I am glad that you are getting your meds squared away. I am sorry to hear about the delay in your house. I always hate that interim period we have to deal with when we move from post to post. I can imagine how this is bothersome for you. Just relax and enjoy your time with Mandy and the beautiful (I hope) Florida weather. Hugs
